In retrospect of the night on June 27th, 2015, due to the explosion of the dust in the FORMOSA FUN COST, lots of tourists were burnt.  Besides being regretful, we would also want to offer what we can do.
Announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the medical device for burn rescue needed to be urgently dispatched according to the hospital’s requirements.  The common function of dressing is for the wounds to be healed.  However, for the patients, the skin quality after the wound healing is even more important.  The skin of the burnt section or the grafting section is normally red after getting closure and the tissue will be inelastic with a shrinkable scar .  Most of the injured patients during the FORMOSA FUN COAST dust explosion especially had their limbs and joints burnt.  The scar will tighten the joint and decrease the joint mobility which leads to contracture and deformation on the appearance and ends up with irreparable regret.
In order to speed up wound healing and decrease the severity of the scars in the future, JoyCom donated “JoyCom” NewEpi® with Goodcare-Biotech to some big academic medical centers, such as Taipei Veterans General Hospital for doctors to evaluate professionally for using the dressing on the wounds.  NewEpi® is the patented product in Taiwan and the study of National Sun Yat-sen University showed besides speeding up the wound healing, NewEpi ® can also repair hair follicle (skin with capillary bore) and decrease scar tissues.  We hope we are able to alleviate potential derivative scars and appearance defect in the future.
